The Level 4 Sports Coach apprenticeship is for high performing, community sport and school sports coaches, providing meaningful and high-quality learning, development and performance experiences.

During this apprenticeship programme, your staff will develop extensive technical and tactical sports knowledge and skills to design and deliver coaching programmes that engage, motivate and evolve participants’ skills and performance.

Duration: 18 months

During the Level 4 Sports Coach, your staff will develop a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, including:

Coaching philosophies and professional practice

Transformational coaching methods and strategic planning techniques

Positive learning environment attributes and behaviour management strategies

Methods to measure the impact of coaching strategies through analysis of key indicators

Session planning techniques that consider a child’s unique profile and development needs

Session delivery and adaptation techniques that inspire children through tailored coaching

SKILLS

Plan safe, inclusive and effective sessions that consider participants’ development needs

Proactively respond to national trends in education standards and strategies

Prepare for sessions by organising resource and ensuring safe operating procedures

Evaluate sessions to monitor engagement, enrichment and personal development

Enhance coaching competencies and inter intra-personal skills through CPD

Comply with legal, ethical, effective and efficient coaching systems
